​Dharma or Dhamma
: the term appears often in the sutras. It has no one generally applicable meaning. Often it is taken to be translated as truth, doctrine, righteousness, virtue, essence, elemental ultimate constituent or atom, phenomenon of nature, law, norm. As you can see the various translations, the word can be used in many ways, but in each way, the common theme is that it is undeniable, it is the truth, whether in the sphere of thought or matter.
